Today’s National Press Club Address by Em Rusciano was impressive on so many levels. Her ability to articulate the journey for a neurodiverse person as they navigate the many barriers that society constructs was both hilarious and informative.

Those of us who work in the disability sector welcome the shift from a deficit model to a more strengths based approach yet Em’s address highlighted the pace of change is not fast enough.

Her address demonstrates  the power of comedy to convey meaning and pack a punch.
