behaviour management in special education

What is Gabby up to now?

Since relocating to Melbourne I have been a very busy grandmother which is lovely and has reawakened my abiding interest in child development in particular social and emotional development.

One of the most challenging aspects of parenting is navigating behaviour management. This can trigger such strong feelings in parents and can often leave them feeling desperate.

I’m going to be looking more closely at these issues and turning my attention to parents rather than teachers. My work in schools over the past 48years has given me a unique perspective on children and the challenges parents face as their child grows and enters the world away from the family. How best to equip them for the journey which may begin with a single day at day care or preschool and onto 5 days a week at big school. Big steps indeed.
