Northern Territory

Last month I had the privilege of running some training for indigenous workers in aged care and disability services across the Northern Territory.
This extraordinary opportunity led me to Flying east of Darwin to Maningrida, crossing the Sth Alligator River, dodging crocodiles and flying out to Warrawi (Goulburn Island ) over Kakadu National Park.

The participants in the training were excited to gain extra skills and knowledge towards their qualification in Individual Support. We had lots of laughs as we covered topics in communication and behaviour support. I was struck by how much care and respect these workers had for the aged people in their care and how those deep connections to country and family form the foundation for this care.
